At The Complex in Easley, SC, our Technique courses cater to dancers across all skill levels and ages 7-18, from those taking their first steps in the dance world to seasoned dancers refining their craft. Our Introduction to Dance Technique establishes the foundation, introducing students to core principles of dance, movement vocabulary, and styles like contemporary, jazz, and modern. As dancers progress to Technique II, they dive deeper, refining their movements, expanding their repertoire, and embracing more intricate combinations. Across both courses, the emphasis remains consistent: to develop strength, flexibility, musicality, and expressiveness. Our structured exercises, detailed instruction, and commitment to dance principles ensure that each dancer finds their rhythm, evolves their style, and gains a profound understanding of dance's rich tapestry.

TECHNIQUE I
The Introduction to Dance Technique class is designed for students with little to no prior experience in dance. This course focuses on developing fundamental dance techniques, body awareness, coordination, musicality, and expressiveness. Students will explore various dance styles, including contemporary, jazz, and modern, while building a strong foundation in movement vocabulary and technique. Through structured exercises and combinations, students will develop strength, flexibility, and agility, as well as gain an understanding of dance principles and terminology.
TECHNIQUE II
The Technique II class is designed for students who have a solid foundation in dance and have completed an introductory level course or have equivalent experience. This course focuses on refining and expanding dance technique, building strength, flexibility, and stamina, and exploring more complex movement combinations. Students will deepen their understanding of dance principles, develop versatility in various dance styles, and cultivate their artistry and performance skills. This course aims to challenge students and provide a platform for continued growth and progression in their dance practice.

Girls: Fitted clothing (leggings, shorts, cropped tops, leotards, fitted tanks etc.), Tan jazz shoes (split sole), pirouettes.
Boys: Fitted clothing (athletic shorts/pants, tanks, t-shirts) Black jazz shoes (split sole).
*Hair must be neatly back and out of the face.
*No baggy clothes except for warm up.
